for today...

outside my window... a glorious february morning with blue skies and warm temperatures.
i am thinking... where did february go?
i am thankful for... being able to afford healthcare.
i am wearing... navy yoga pants, white tee and flip-flops.
i am going...  to go for a long walk...
i am currently reading... drums of autumn by diana gabaldon
i am hoping... my lab tests and scan will come back with good news.
on my mind... love having plans but also having some down time!
pondering these words...  'obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal' -h.ford-
from the kitchen... oatmeal with fat free milk, dried cherries and almonds.
around the house... things need to be picked up.... as usual after a weekend.
one of my favorite things...   florida winters... so lucky to live here.
i'm creating... a calendar for mom.
a few plans for the rest of the week... pay bills, run errands, go for more lab work, walk and take pictures!

1.25.2011

for today...

outside my window...a few clouds and light rain.
i am thinking... how warm the weather was all during the past week.
i am thankful for... every day.
i am wearing... my usual...  jeans, t-shirt and flats.
i am going...  to definitely start walking and exercising this week... for sure!
i am currently reading... 'winter sea' by susana kearsley and re-reading  'voyager' by diana gabaldon.
i am hoping... my husband does not travel too often this year.
on my mind... my 'little word' for this year... release.
pondering these words...  'when it's dark enough, you can see the stars'  -c.a. beard-
from the kitchen... oatmeal with dried cherries, cranberries and almonds.
around the house... back to the old routine and therefore all is quiet.
one of my favorite things... an unplanned day to do whatever i want.
i'm creating... a photo book.
a few plans for the rest of the week... i for sure have more than a few! talk to college advisor, sat tutoring for my son, grocery shopping,  start getting together all papers for tax day, doctor's appointment, take car for service....etc...etc....

sorry i've been a terrible blogger i was supposed to post this yesterday but life does get in the way sometimes and  time just seems to have been flying by with so many things on my plate right now... but i promise, i've been a better mom and wife because of this...  ;)

i guess one major event in our lives this year will be helping my son with the college process....he is on 11th grade (seems that it was only yesterday that i was driving him to kindergarten... *sigh*)
and believe or not, he has to start it soon which means filling applications from his choice of schools, taking required tests, getting letters of recommendations, finishing his social work hours, visit to schools, ...etc....etc... which means i have to help a lot to make sure he's doing all that is necessary...
he's decided to go to music school.... and i often wonder if a 16 year old really knows what he wants to do for the rest of his life.... i'm crossing my fingers he makes good decisions.

anyway, that's one of the things on my mind right now besides all the other things i want or have to do too.  i did manage to create a few layouts and i'm happy with the results. take a look:

i have no idea what it's happening to blogger but i just could not link my images to my gallery for list of credits. if interested please visit my gallery at o'scraps.

ninascraps is back with a kit perfect for valentine's day layouts and/or cards:

have a fabulous and creative week!

for today... dec.13

outside my window... crisp cool temperatures and wonderful blue skies
i am thinking... only 12 days till christmas.
i am thankful for... good memories and happy moments.
i am wearing... my ever so soft pj's and crocs.
i am remembering... christmases past.
i am going... on my ski trip this coming saturday.
i am currently reading... january's issue of oprah's magazine
i am hoping... for plenty of snow at the ski resort.
on my mind... my family back home in el salvador.
pondering these words... "luck is believing you're lucky" -t. williams-
from the kitchen... coffee... too early for anything else.
around the house... christmas decorations all in place.
one of my favorite things... spending quiet weekends at home.
i'm creating... a list of new word art ideas.
a few plans for the rest of the week... hair cut, finish wrapping christmas presents, get dog food, pack bags, post office...
one picture to share...

i am thankful for... being able to help people.
I am wearing... grey pants, my favorite "twilight" t-shirt... in other words...my pj's.
noticing that... i hardly ever read books in spanish anymore.
i am still reading... "the swan thieves" by elizabeth kostova.
on my mind... the idea of ordering a couple more packages of polaroid film!
pondering these words... "I don't want to get to the end of my life and find that I lived just the length of it.  I want to have lived the width of it as well."  -Diane Ackerman-
from the kitchen... almond croissants & a big mug of vanilla coffee.
around the house... i can hear the "today show" on tv.
one of my favorite things... a book that keeps me up until 4am because it is super good!
i'm creating... a new layout.
a few plans for the rest of the week... besides all the usual weekly chores.....digi-scrapping with no interruptions & go back to my walking routine.

a peek at some other masks and word art i'm working on:

i've always love using photo masks to add an artistic touch to my photos. i love the way they can make a photo look vintage, soft, edgy or anything you want depending on the mask. i love how they make photos blend subtly into the background & the feeling of  a "window" into another world that they provide.
i worked on these 6 masks last week and find that they can fit a varied type of styles.  this is my gift for you this week - hope you enjoy this freebie!

this next layout with one of the above masks...

other news from the digi-scrapping world:
